At Yemenithreads, every collection we release is rooted in a mission greater than fashion. Our aim is to build lives, not just livelihoods—which is why a portion of proceeds from every collection goes directly toward nonprofit initiatives around the world.

The Journey of Filastini Threads

Filastini Threads was born from a moment of reflection: What more can we do for our brothers and sisters in Palestine? The answer came in the form of a simple yet powerful idea—design a scarf that represents Palestine, and let that scarf give back.

That idea came to life in the hands of Aydarus, a skilled artisan in Yemen who, at the time, was struggling to support his family. After reviving his spirits through a small Yemenithreads commission, we entrusted him with a larger vision: the creation of a Palestine-themed scarf.

The design came through community collaboration—an AI-generated concept by Texas-based Qari Adeeb Bari served as the spark. From there, Aydarus brought it to life—each scarf begins with hours of meticulous, focused handwork. Once the base is complete, it’s driven over 6 hours by our operations lead, Saqqaf, to another city where the fishnet keffiyah-style weave and olive leaf motifs are carefully stitched in.

The result? A 100% handmade, ethically sourced, deeply meaningful scarf that supports not just one artisan, but an entire community.

Lasting Impact

10% of proceeds from Filastini Threads go directly toward relief and rebuilding efforts in Gaza.
